Our story
The project began as a small collection of street photographs taken during ordinary walks through a handful of neighborhoods. What started as a personal habit grew into a wider effort to capture the texture of daily life in communities across the country, from busy downtown corners to quiet residential blocks.
Today, contributors across Canada photograph markets, transit stops, laneways, parks and porches, adding to a growing archive of images that reflect the diversity and character of Canadian street life.
What we do
We publish photo essays and field notes that focus on the small, unremarkable moments of daily life: a conversation on a stoop, a market stall being set up, footprints in fresh snow. These are the details we believe deserve a closer look.
Our approach
